Using the Lord's name in vain is something that can easily be fixed. One of my readers recount what she did was to establish a support system to help her. Whenever she slipped up, someone that she loved and cared about would punish her. They also texted her everyday with words to replace what she wanted to say. After a period of time, the addiction wore off, and she was not as tempted to swear like that.
Establishing a support system is CRUCIAL to help you overcome your addictions.

Or in the case of military men they were so accustomed to "*uck this, or *uck that" which no doubt helped them to continue the practices in which they used. One GI on returning home to his parents. His parents, asked him, "Joe you are so quite you never say anything?"
Joe said, "I can't, I am afraid of *ucking up."
Another part of why you could be doing this addiction is because of your environment. Getting yourself in a safe place is key to overcoming your addictions. If you have an addiction with alcohol and always get drunk in the bars, don't go to any bars. Or if you cannot escape your enviorment, understanding that although you are in a certain environment it does not necessarily mean you have to conform in the way that they are talking.
Do not fret if you have/or are doing what this young GI is doing. Sometimes the only way to survive is by conforming. However try to have the will power now that you are out of the environment to change your nasty habits. Just by making a conscience effort, is ten steps above those of the average person with addictions.
